19 of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt
A comeback Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- number one, has had a difficult season, achieving just a single victory at the major tournaments and experiencing a setback at the New York tournament.
His inconsistency on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - caused him exiting of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.
Currently working with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, he has consistently progressed in the last few weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is his first title following the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt after spring of 2023.
Success also means he has achieved twenty-one titles at twenty-one various events.
"For the first time I am participating in a tournament with my children simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," commented world number 14 the champion.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter Victoria, because the first title I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the 2021 US Open champion, had lost his past six finals, featuring in Halle previously this season.
The player's defensive approach and regular outbursts on the playing surface had prompted commentators to doubt if his capacity to play at the top level was finished.
Yet the player has altered his approach in recent weeks, striving to approach the net and perform positively, reinforced by an improved service.
Medvedev recovered from a disadvantage in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, taking four of the final five points to take the lead.
The pair swapped service breaks in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to push for a third set.
The opponent defended 4 initial chances in a close deciding set before the Russian secured a break to 15 to close out the victory.
Fittingly, he earned the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman unable to manage a return after a lengthy match.
