Area Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German municipality of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were defaced, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.
Officers say they were contacted late on Wednesday night, when a individual noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued liquid.
The fluid had been applied in the pattern of a Nazi symbol, they stated.
Officers then found numerous other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are banned in Germany under legislation outlawing the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say preliminary tests indicate the fluid was likely human blood.
"There is still no indication as to where it came from; authorities are presently not cognizant of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.
Municipal representatives announced they were working "to resolve the case" and have asked to the residents for details.
An important political figure commented the incident rendered him stunned and required to be solved promptly.
"This incident affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the right-wing violent incident five years ago," he posted on online, recalling the death of nine people by a shooter targeting people of immigrant origin in 2020.
